Notte d'estate

E' una bella notte d'estate
Tengono le alte case
aperti i balconi
del vecchio paese sulla vasta piazza.
Nell'ampio rettangolo deserto,
panchine di pietra, evonimi ed acacie
simmetrici disegnano
le nere ombre sulla bianca arena.
Allo zenit la luna, e sulla torre
la sfera dell'orologio illuminata.
Io in questo vecchio paese vo passeggiando
solo come un fantasma.
