     Se un uomo rinuncia alla poesia per il potere,
     avrà molto potere.
    
     Se un uomo si vanta delle sue poesie,
      verrà amato dagli stolti.


     Se un uomo si vanta delle sue poesie e ama gli stolti,
      non scriverà più.


     Se un uomo prova un ardente desiderio di attenzione  per
          le sue poesie,
              sarà come un somaro al chiaro di luna.

E sicuramente gli uomini che hanno rinunciato alla poesia per il potere,  di potere  ne  hanno avuto molto, moltissimo; anche il potere di distruggere la Terra e tutti i suoi abitanti, non una volta, ma innumerevoli volte. E come somari al chiaro di luna, ci hanno costretto ad ammirare il loro terribile potere...

    Se un uomo si mette in testa una  corona quando scrive,
    verrà smascherato.
   
   Se un uomo non si mette in testa una corona quando scrive,
    non ingannerà nessuno tranne se stesso.

    Se un uomo si arrabbia con una poesia,

 Se scrivete poesie o romanzi, o qualsiasi altra cosa, anche la lista della spesa,  i consigli del Nuovo Manuale di Poesia sono senza dubbio preziosi, e misteriosi...:  d' altronde, " la poesia è affidata a quella forma superiore di interpretazione che è le malentendu. Quando una poesia è scritta è terminata, ma non finisce; comincia, cerca un'altra poesia in se stessa, nell'autore, nel lettore, nel silenzio".(Cfr. Salinas, Poetica, poesia espagnola contemporanea, antologia, Taurus, Madrid 1959, 1972)

4 If a man conceives of a poem,
   he shall have one less child.

5 If a man conceives of two poems,

  Se un uomo vive insieme a due poesie,
  ne tradirà una.
  Se un uomo concepisce una poesia,
  avrà un figlio in meno.
Se un uomo concepisce due poesie,
  avrà due figli in meno.

Curiosa la storia della foto (mia): viene veramente da una vecchia polaroid anni 70,(per i più giovani oramai adusi al digitale la POLAROID è stata la prima macchina fotografica a sviluppo istantaneo, o quasi.

   he shall die lonely.                                                    

                            

  Se un uomo comprende una poesia,

   avrà dei problemi. 

   Se un uomo vive con una poesia,

   morirà solo.  

  Un nuovo manuale di poesia da Mark Strand:  con le sue tipiche lunghe liste,  (sono 21  consigli in questo caso, che scriveremo in piccoli gruppi per poterli esaminare più a fondo) Mark ci porta nel cuore del rapporto tra l' uomo e la poesia, di quello che può accaderti se ti abbandoni al flusso delle emozioni.
 E sicuramente , per mia personale esperienza, è meglio non comprendere troppo una poesia, anzi meglio sarebbe non leggerle mai, tantomeno cercare di viverci insieme...
