 A two-day of  reading and conversations intended
to explore current approaches to translating Polish and
Italian poetry into English, and the translation of English-language poetry into Italian.


Due giorni di letture e conversazioni pensate per esplorare gli
attuali approcci alla traduzione della poesia polacca ed italiana
in lingua inglese, e alla traduzione della poesia dall' inglese 
all' italiano.

~ Damiano Abeni and Moira Egan read their Italian translations of poems by John Ashbery, Moira Egan, Wallace Stevens,  Mark Strand, and Greg Williamson, with the translators also reading the English language originals

~ Antonella Anedda reads her Italian translations of poems by Sarah Arvio, Anne Carson, and Jamie 

McKendrick, with Arvio and McKendrick reading the English-language originals

~ Franco Buffoni reads his Italian translations of poems by John Keats, George Gordon, Lord Byron and 

Seamus Heaney, with Karl Kirchwey reading the English-language originals

~ Patrizia Cavalli reads her translations from Shakespeare’s A Midsummer Night’s Dream, with Sarah 

Arvio and Karl Kirchwey reading the English-language originals

~ Massimo Gezzi reads his Italian translations of poems by Louise Glück, Robert Hass, and W.S.Merwin, 

with Robert Hass reading the English-language originals

~ Guido Mazzoni reads his Italian translation of  a poem by Wallace Stevens, with Robert Hass reading 

the English-language original
